HappiLily Events is a Minnesota-based wedding planning company for couples seeking a personalized, intentional approach to planning and event design. Thoughtfully designed and beautifully executed events are what we do best.
We also love to plan bridal showers, surprise engagements, elopements, and celebrations of all kinds! Whatever you’re planning, our goal is to ease stress and ensure your celebration looks and feels authentically you. Love is love and if you’re celebrating, so are we.
Founded by your go-to events gal Lily Hansen, a Master Certified Wedding Planner, the name is a playful combination of happily and Lily. It’s pronounced like happily (“hap-ih-ly”), but better — “hap-ih-Lily!”
Let’s get one thing straight: We believe this whole wedding planning thing should be fun.
Wedding planning shouldn’t be so time-consuming or stressful that you feel relieved when it’s finally over. You should be having fun choosing your vendors and designing your day, and you should still have time for work and social activities and enjoying your engagement! Wedding planning isn’t your full-time job. It’s ours!
The HappiLily Experience is what we call best-friend-level support. Our planning process is collaborative and intentionally structured to help you stay organized and stress less. We will set you up for success with a suite of essential planning tools to prioritize your to-dos, simplify your choices, and make it easier to make all those wedding day decisions. Your chosen service package determines our level of hands-on support during the process and the number of planning meetings; no matter which package you choose, we’re always available by phone or email for any questions or ideas.
To ensure you get the one-on-one attention you deserve while planning such a special event, we choose to take only a select number of weddings each year and our lead planners dedicate themselves to one couple per weekend. With a more personal planning process, your wedding will better reflect the two of you, you’ll feel more comfortable working alongside your planner, and this whole wedding planning thing is going to be as fun as your wedding day will be!

Meet Lily
Lead Wedding Planner + Designer, and the founder of HappiLily Events
Hi, I’m Lily, your go-to gal when you have a party to plan!
As with most event planners, my story starts somewhere along the lines of… “I’ve always loved planning events!” Yep, same! I’ve always had a passion for bringing people together and wanting to plan and execute something amazing and memorable. Of course, this includes planning social events with friends and family — but I also love the complex logistics and pressure that comes with planning professional events.
My career in the events industry began in catering before progressing into booking and coordinating large-scale events at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and the Madison Public Library; everything from author signings and political speaker panels, to beer dabblers, university dances and award ceremonies, live performances, and magazine release parties. Fun fact, I did also plan weddings at the library… cool and unexpected, right!?
What inspired me to open my own company was actually when a couple at the venue I was then-managing asked if they could hire me to plan their wedding. I have always been someone who cared most about the client’s experience and advocating for their needs, rather than focusing on the venue’s bottom line, so it felt like a natural step and perfect opportunity to establish myself as a wedding planner.
That was in 2021, and ever since founding HappiLily Events, I can say I truly love what I do! I thrive in the fast-paced, remember-all-the-details, on-your-feet-all-day world of events and I love that I get to work with such fun people (couples and vendors, alike). It is an honor to work alongside people like you to plan some of your most memorable moments!
A lil’ more about me:
In 2021, I completed professional training via The Certified Wedding Planner Society to earn certifications in Wedding Planning and Event Design. In 2022, I became a Master Certified Wedding Planner!
I love lake days and being at my cabin, Sunday brunch, live music, reading mystery novels, and gardening (ask me about my 27-pound watermelon!).
In between jobs in the events world, I actually worked at an advertising agency for 3 years. I’ve had experience working with some pretty cool brands, but planning meaningful events is so much more fulfilling.
I married my childhood crush in 2023 (we met at the family cabin when we were 10, reconnected ten years later, and the rest is history!).
