A Dramatically Elegant Wedding — Simply Enchanted Styled Shoot

When you think of an “elegant wedding,” what comes to mind?
I’m guessing something along the lines of black and white linens, Chiavari chairs, gleaming chandeliers, a formal tux and ballgown, large white floral arrangements, and sparkling silver or gold accents.
Sound about right?
There’s a reason this “elegant wedding” theme is such a go-to design. And if that’s your style, our team will bring it to life! BUT, we’re also all about changing it up with non-traditional elements and colors.
I recently planned a styled shoot at La Pointe Events in Somerset, Wisconsin to show you just how unique your elegant wedding can be.
What is a "Styled Shoot" you say? A styled shoot is essentially a mock wedding put together by a team of vendors.
Styled Shoots provide a collaborative and creative way to showcase unique design concepts, test our skillsets with new ideas, and get to know other wedding industry pros! We go through allllll the same motions as if this was a real wedding, save for that whole exchanging of vows thing.
The most fun part of a styled shoot is that the vendor team gets to completely create the vision! Don’t get me wrong, I love working with my couples to bring their visions and ideas to life. But, I also love the fun of working with other vendors to blend our ideas and try concepts we haven’t yet gotten a client to roll with!
Simply Enchanted was a vision of mine to recreate that traditional concept of what an “elegant wedding” is supposed to be. Our team of vendors is here to tell ya, you can have an “elegant wedding” that is COLORFUL, WHIMSICAL, and FUN at the same time!

Simply Enchanted was brought to life by taking traditional elements and giving them a more colorful and whimsical feel. We wanted “guests” to feel enchanted!
We set the tone as elegant and sophisticated with matte black & gold-accented decor, and more formal styling and verbiage for the stationery and signage. Our primary color palette of burgundy and black also created a more formal feel, which contrasted perfectly with the venue’s light & bright space.
To evoke a more whimsical feeling, we added fun pops of peach and light pink accents through the table decor and floral arrangements.
Floral design played a huge role in creating a less traditional and more fun wedding theme (check out those unique blooms and that texture!). The groom replaced a traditional boutonniere with a floral pocket square and the bride wore a floral headband.

The shoot also included custom champagne-themed cookies, an eye-catching 3-tier cake, and several custom balloon installations! Ultimately, each element came together to create a refreshing and fun twist on traditional elegance.
